GETTING TO ELIM BEACH CAMPGROUND

We’re located just outside Hope Vale in Cape York. Drive with care, but the road is paved except for 800m of gravel road to the entry to the Campground. The road is 2WD accessible. 

 

IMPORTANT: You are on Thiithaar Warra Country just 9km out of Hopevale. If you decide to leave Hopevale, you must proceed directly to the Elim Beach Campground Visitors Centre to register your arrival and purchase a Visitors Pass.

DIRECTIONS FROM COOKTOWN

  1. Head north out of Cooktown on Endeavour Valley Rd. 

  2. Continue on Endeavour Valley Road past the junction to Battlecamp Road for a further 11kms to Hopevale. 

  3. Following the road into Hopevale will bring you to the church roundabout, turn right onto Muni Street and continue for 1km through the intersection until the formed road ends at the roundabout, turn left onto Keller Street.  

  4. Continue on Keller Street. Keller Street becomes Elim Road.  

  5. Follow Elim Road as you exit the township and cross a single-lane bridge.  

  6. Elim Road merges right, follow Elim Road for 9km and cross Bulls Crossing Bridge. 

  7. You are now on Thiithaarr Warra Country. All visitors must report directly to the Visitors Centre at Elim Beach Campground.
